Dr. Fred Wilson was born and raised in southwest Calgary, graduating from Central Memorial High School. He attended the University of Lethbridge where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. After four years in Toronto, at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Fred received his Doctor of Chiropractic in 1990.
Returning home from Toronto, Dr. Fred set up practice in Calgary and settled into his current location in Centre 70 in 1992. Manual chiropractic adjustments and vibratory massage are the methods that Dr. Fred most often employs, but he also offers activator technique to those who find this more effective. Dr. Fred believes that chiropractic treatment should be thorough and comprehensive, thus he spends fifteen minutes per treatment during which he will check not only your spine but the extremities as well. Adjustment of the feet and knees can often affect sufferers of lower back pain. Treatment of the shoulder, elbow or temporomandibular joint (jaw) will often assist in alleviating upper back pain or headaches. Chiropractic is beneficial for almost everyone from babies to seniors, and babies can be adjusted soon after birth. Regular adjustments help to prevent arthritis as you age. Chiropractic is not the only aspect of a healthy lifestyle. Nutrition, exercise, stretching, stress reduction, and healthy living habits are all very important. Dr. Fred will help you with advice in each of these areas.
Dr. Fred was blessed with four boys who are all highly involved in sports. Dr. Fred has been involved in his family’s lives through being a cub leader for ten years, as well as trainer for numerous Calgary football and hockey teams. He is also active in many community activities as well as being quite involved in his church.
